Closed - Transformational Distinctions

In a transformational context, being closed is a way of being characterized by unavailability in our listening and our ability to engage authentically and neutrally with the requests and ideas of others. When closed, we operate within a fixed reality that restricts possibilities and limits creativity.

Being closed often shows up as an unwavering attachment to our beliefs, viewpoints, and conversations, leading us to adopt fixed positions on how things "should be" or what they "should look like." This righteousness and inflexibility create friction in relationships with others and life, hindering meaningful connections and personal development.

Moreover, a closed way of being tends to perpetuate itself by introducing resistance into the space, following the principle that what we resist persists. Being closed is the opposite of being open.
