Open - Transformational Distinctions

Being open, in a transformational context, refers to a mindset and way of being where we consciously let go of all preconceived notions, beliefs, and judgments about a situation, person, or subject. It creates availability in our listening and in our ability to be present.

To stand in the wondrous space of being open requires a high level of trust. It means setting aside our beliefs and what we think we know, and instead, listening and acting from a space of surrender and detachment. It is essentially saying, “I am willing and able to admit that I may be wrong and courageous and curious enough to consider alternative perspectives and solutions.”

Being open creates fertile ground for relationships to thrive. It's not about right or wrong but rather about how we receive information. It allows for the present moment to be our playground where we can explore and discern information, requests, conversations and relationships without being bound by past experiences or biases.

In essence, being open is the opposite to being closed, as it embodies a spirit of curiosity, openness, and an unwavering commitment to growth and transformation. It has us be open to explore, digest, and distinguish what is presented in any given moment. Being open is to be radically present and unattached.

In transformational trainings, like [re] WIRED for Peace, being open is essential to creating maximum value as what is presented often exists outside your box.
