13 years later...

Updated: Sep 20, 2020

On this day, 13-years ago, I walked into my Part 1 Training (it was called “Basic”) at Summit Education in Fort Lauderdale.

For those that don’t know, the Basic was a version of the Part 1 transformational training that Gratitude Training now has been offering for 10 years.

I remember walking into the training room, apprehensive, in judgement of the “greeters”, sizing up the other participants, and skeptical about the available breakthroughs.

I had just moved from California to Florida a few weeks earlier and almost by chance, enrolled into the trainings. I had no idea that the trajectory of my life was about to be altered in the most fundamental and rapid way possible.

We all have defining moments in our lives, and this was one of the BIG ones for me. The training illuminated all my blind spots and as a result created a new possibility and foundation from which I could begin to design my future. It taught me that there was two fundamental distinctions that no one could ever ‘take’ from me: my choice and my word.

From that day until today, looking back, I have managed to create an amazing family, a huge transformational company that has transformed thousands of lives, and a self realization journey that I would not trade for anything. I am so incredibly grateful.

Today, I am embracing life to the fullest. I’m am blessed to be living through one of the most defining moments in history and honored to experience the breakdowns and breakthroughs that are occurring, for me and around me, as we all navigate a worldwide pandemic and what is looking like a dim world-economic future.

At this moment, while in the midst of the unknown, I am experiencing the same ups and downs, aha moments and deep revelations, fears and courage, as I did during those days in the training room 13 years ago. The only difference is, this is real. I’ve been trained for this. This is why I, as a result of the trainings, embarked on a journey with a mission to create peace on the planet by ‘training’ others.

What is eye opening is that today the world seems further away from the peace I’ve declared than ever.

There is huge division in the world and righteous and self serving agendas are being propagated daily. This can be unsettling at times, yet, I’m choosing to view it as the final “shakedown” before the light in all of us can shine brightly as one again. There will be a calm after this storm. What goes up must come down.

So back to the two distinctions that are mine, and mine only: My choice and my word.

I’m choosing to walk through the valley of the shadows of death and not become it. I choose to be in it and not of it.

I declare world peace.
